First Rockslice Prototype Completed

Rockslice has completed its very first working prototype — marking a major technical milestone for the team.

The initial version was built and tested in co-founder Jesper Tveit’s garage. While simplified, the prototype successfully demonstrated the core functionality of the cutting mechanism. The main objective was to test the internal expansion system, control pressure, and observe how rock responds under force.

The hands-on testing provided valuable insight into material behavior, mechanical tolerances, and the system’s ability to split rock from the inside — without explosives or vibration.

This test confirmed that the concept works in practice, and laid the foundation for further development. The next phase will focus on system integration, automation, and preparing for pilot-scale field tests.

Rockslice is now one step closer to offering a new, cleaner way to cut rock.
